Who am I?
I’m Georges.
I’m a husband (married 25 years) and father of 3 adult children. These days I work a regular nine-to-five as a Customer Success Manager, which means most of my writing doesn't happen from an office in a church. It happens over early morning coffee, during lunch breaks, and in the ordinary rhythms of everyday life.
For sixteen years, I was a pastor. I preached sermons, led churches, studied the Bible, sat with people through some of the best and worst moments of their lives, and spent a lot of time talking about God.
Meanwhile, my own faith was getting complicated, and I eventually reached a point where I walked away from faith altogether.
A couple of years later, in an unexpected moment, God met me again. My faith was rekindled. He quietly called me back to himself.
My questions weren’t all answered, and some things still didn’t make sense, but I found myself encountering God again.
Eventually, I started writing again. (Read my post “Why I Write”)
Qoheleth grew out of that journey.
The name comes from Ecclesiastes. Qoheleth is the Hebrew name given to the Teacher, the voice that looks honestly at life in all its beauty, absurdity, frustration, mystery, and meaning.
That feels like a pretty good description of what I’m trying to do here.
I’m not writing as someone who has everything figured out.
I’m writing as someone who is simply learning to follow Jesus daily.

Sunday Sermon — the occasional Sunday Sermon, in written format. Unlike Popcorn Devotions, these are longer and more structured dives into a Bible passage. I sometimes bring out some of my old sermons (dating back 12-25 years) and rework them.
Audio Recording - Recap and discussion around the weekly content for those who would rather listen than read.
Some things will take only a few minutes to read. Others will invite us to sit with an idea for a while.
But the goal is the same:
To slow down.
To pay attention.
To think deeply.
And perhaps to notice something we would otherwise have missed.

Most of all, I hope you begin noticing that God may be present in places you weren’t expecting to find him.
Holy threads in the everyday stuff.
